Samantha Ruth Prabhu is navigating her role in the upcoming series *Citadel: Honey Bunny* while dealing with myositis, an autoimmune disorder that impacts her muscles.
Her condition sometimes created challenges during filming. In a recent interview with Galatta India, she shared an experience of suffering a concussion, which left her momentarily disoriented.
Samantha recalled, “I had a concussion and I forgot names afterward.” She added, “I completely blanked out, and thinking back, no one took me to the hospital or asked me how I was.” Writer Sita Menon chimed in, “We were on a call with a doctor,” to which Samantha humorously responded, “Which doctor?” Sita reminded her, “You don’t remember because you were concussed.”
Samantha remembered feeling rushed during her concussion, hearing that they had limited time to finish the shoot. She said, “In my concussed state, I was like, ‘I am coming, people, I am coming.’ Then I saw the stunt guy in front of me and thought, ‘What am I doing?’ They said, ‘Okay, cut, not happening.'”
Initially, Samantha expressed her desire to be replaced in the show due to her health issues, stating, “I begged them to move on because I truly didn’t think I could do it.” She even suggested other actresses for the role, saying, “I sent them recommendations, saying, ‘Look at this heroine; she would be amazing. I can’t do this.’ I provided about four options because I was really unwell.”
Despite her initial doubts, Samantha persevered and ultimately drew strength from the experience. Reflecting on the final product, she expressed deep gratitude, saying, “Now, watching this show, I’m so thankful they didn’t proceed without me and that I found the strength to complete it. Even before the show airs, I’m proud of myself for getting through.”
*Citadel: Honey Bunny* is a much-anticipated spin-off of the American spy-action series *Citadel*, which featured Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden. The series is set to premiere on November 7, promising an exciting mix of action and drama, marking Samantha’s remarkable return.
