Queen Elizabeth II hosts Bidens at Windsor Castle

Britain’s Queen Elizabeth used a ceremonial sword to cut a cake on Saturday at an event in Cornwall on the sidelines of the Group of Seven (G7) summit. Queen Elizabeth II was born on 21 April, 1926 – the first born child of King George VI and his wife, the Queen Mother Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon.

Queen Elizabeth’s birthday parade takes place in June, as Britain has unpredictable weather. According to certain media reports, the tradition dates back to the 1700s, when George II in 1748 decided it would be too cold to have the Trooping the Colour parade on his actual birthday – in November. King George decided to combine his birthday celebration with an annual military parade, in June.

On this occasion this year, President Biden and the first lady met with Queen Elizabeth at Windsor Castle today.

He’s the 13th sitting U.S. president to meet with the 95-year-old monarch.

Arthur Edward (Royal Photographer) shared a tweet stating, “The Queen met the President of the United States and First Lady Jill Biden at Windsor Castle. Her Majesty welcomed the President and the First Lady in the Quadrangle of Windsor Castle.

The President inspected Guard of Honour The Queen’s Company First Battalion Grenadier Guards”.

After tea with the 95-year-old British monarch at Windsor Castle, Biden told reporters: “I don’t think she’d be insulted but she reminded me of my mother, the look of her and just the generosity.”

Biden further stated that, “She wanted to know what the two leaders that I – the one I’m about to meet with, Mr Putin, and she wanted to know about Xi Jinping,”.

Chris Jackson another Royal photographer shared a tweet stating, “President Biden and The First Lady drop in for tea with HM The Queen at Windsor Castle this afternoon “.
