Actors Katrina Kaif and Kriti Sanon recently graced the Navratri festivities in Kochi, showcasing their timeless elegance in beautiful ethnic sarees.
Kriti chose a Tarun Tahiliani creation featuring intricate aari and zardozi embroidery on hand-painted fabric. The saree was adorned with sequins, kundan, and crystals, complemented by a matching blouse.
To enhance her look, the *Mimi* star added a choker necklace and a pink bindi. On Saturday, she shared photos of herself in the saree on Instagram, captioning it, “This Heer loves her sarees.”
Katrina also shared a couple of pictures displaying her own saree love. Interestingly, she wore a saree from Tarun Tahiliani as well, which was paired with a matching blouse that had tassel details on the sleeve hems. She captioned her post with “Shubh Navratri.”
On Friday, she attended Navratri celebrations hosted by the Kalyanaram family, who own Kalyan Jewellers. Other celebrities spotted at the event included Ajay Devgn, Naga Chaitanya, Rashmika Mandanna, and Saif Ali Khan, all dressed in traditional attire.
Ajay wore a light pink kurta with subtle embroidery, while Saif Ali Khan looked regal in a pleated dhoti paired with a blue kurta.
Navratri, which translates to ‘nine nights’ in Sanskrit, is dedicated to the worship of Goddess Durga and her nine avatars, known as Navdurga. Hindus celebrate four Navratris each year, but only Chaitra Navratri and Shardiya Navratri are widely observed, aligning with seasonal changes.
In India, Navratri is celebrated in diverse ways. In North India, especially in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh, the Ramlila, a dramatic reenactment of the Ramayana, is performed. The festival culminates with Vijayadashami, celebrated by burning effigies of King Ravana.
