Karanvir Sharma, known for his roles in projects like “A Thursday” alongside Yami Gautam and the Zee TV series “Rabb Se Hai Dua,” seems to have landed a significant role in an upcoming major release.
According to insiders, Sharma has been approached for Rajkumar Santoshi’s forthcoming film “Lahore 1947,” produced by Aamir Khan Productions. The movie, which recently commenced filming, stars Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, and features an ensemble cast.
Sources revealed that Sharma had previously been in discussions with Santoshi for the film “Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahaani,” where he was initially considered for a pivotal role, which eventually went to Ranbir Kapoor. However, he is now reportedly set to join the cast of “Lahore 1947.”
Interestingly, this collaboration marks Sharma’s second time sharing the screen with Sunny Deol, following their appearance together in “Blank,” where they portrayed Anti-terrorism squad officers.
“Lahore 1947” is notable for bringing together Sunny Deol and Aamir Khan as a producer for the first time, making it a significant moment in Bollywood history. Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, the film is expected to feature Shabana Azmi, Abhimanyu Singh, Karan Deol, and possibly Ali Fazal in key roles.
Meanwhile, Karanvir Sharma has established himself in both film and television, with credits including “Zid,” “Azhar,” “Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana,” various OTT series, and TV shows. Attempts to reach Sharma for confirmation were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
