Shalini Passi, the newest addition to Netflix’s *The Fabulous Lives Vs Bollywood Wives*, has quickly become a fan favorite due to her lavish lifestyle.
Married to Sanjay Passi, a business tycoon and chairman of the Pasco Group in Delhi, Shalini identifies as an artist. In an exclusive interview with Architectural Digest, she shared her two-decade journey of collecting art and how it has transformed her 20,000 square-foot home, which features 14 rooms filled with exquisite pieces.
Shalini lives with her husband Sanjay and their son Robin in a spacious home located in New Delhi’s upscale Golf Links neighborhood. Their residence boasts views of the expansive 220 acres of the Delhi Golf Club and is adorned with art from floor to ceiling.
Her home showcases a remarkable collection that includes paintings, video art, sculptures, installations, Fornasetti bureaus, Gio Ponti collectibles, gilt wood mirrors, and étagère bookshelves. A standout feature in the garden is a stunning 25-foot Buddha sculpture by renowned artist Subodh Gupta.
Regarding the interior design, Shalini expressed, “I’m an artist and always had an eye for art and meaningful objects. I have always been obsessive about beautiful or interesting items.” Her home, she noted, is not static; it seamlessly integrates new pieces with older artworks. The sitting rooms feature video art from artists like Abhishek Hazra, Surekha, Rohini Devasher, and Sonia Khurana, along with striking metal shutters and canvases by Atul Dodiya.
The house exemplifies artistic excellence, featuring a cathedral-like central space filled with light from large, sculptural glass windows that beautifully frame the garden’s artwork. The interior includes a 17th-century William and Mary-style cabinet and a grand 19th-century French ormolu clock, representing a perfect blend of vintage and contemporary design.
