Sanjay Leela Bhansali graced the premiere of his upcoming series, “Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar,” in Los Angeles, as shared by Netflix India on Instagram with photos and videos.
Accompanied by his niece, actress Sharmin Segal, who debuts in the series, Bhansali attended the event, although lead actresses like Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, and Sanjeeda Sheikh were absent.
Luminaries like Lilly Singh and Canadian rapper Tesher were among the attendees. Netflix India’s caption on the shared photos highlighted the celebration of Bhansali’s inaugural series.
A video was also posted featuring Bhansali’s delight in presenting his work, alongside guest reviews.
Scheduled for release on May 1, “Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar” delves into the world of courtesans during the 1940s Indian Independence struggle, exploring the cultural dynamics of Heera Mandi.
In addition to the mentioned actresses, Fardeen Khan, Taha Shah Badussha, Shekhar Suman, and Adhyayan Suman portray Nawabs in the series. A star-studded premiere, attended by luminaries like Salman Khan, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Rekha, and Genelia Deshmukh, was hosted earlier by Netflix India.
