The digital iteration of the controversial reality show, Bigg Boss OTT, commenced in 2021 with filmmaker Karan Johar taking on the role of host.
In its inaugural season, Divya Agarwal emerged victorious in the Grand Finale, surpassing competitors such as Nishant Bhat, Pratik Sehajpal, Shamita Shetty, and Raqesh Bapat. The season streamed exclusively on Voot.
The show returned in 2023 for its second season on JioCinema, with Salman Khan as the host. Popular YouTuber Elvish Yadav clinched the title, defeating contestants like Abhishek Malhan, Manisha Rani, Bebika Dhurve, and Pooja Bhatt in the Grand Finale. Elvish made history as the first wildcard contestant to win Bigg Boss, spanning 17 seasons aired on national television.
As anticipation builds for the third season of Bigg Boss OTT, reports suggest that Salman Khan may not return as host due to scheduling conflicts. Makers are reportedly in discussions with Sanjay Dutt, Anil Kapoor, and Karan Johar as potential replacements. According to a source cited by Pinkvilla, “Salman Khan is facing date issues, however, makers are keen on having him onboard. In case Khan’s schedule didn’t work out, makers have approached Sanjay Dutt, Anil Kapoor, and Karan Johar to host the show.”
Additionally, there are rumors that Chandrika Dixit, the viral vada pav vendor from Delhi, known for her internet-famous videos selling vada pav in the national capital, has been approached by the show’s producers to participate in Bigg Boss OTT Season 3. However, the final list of contestants and the premiere date for the upcoming season are yet to be disclosed.
