Ranbir Kapoor and Nitesh Tiwari are preparing to collaborate on a project based on Ramayan. Although the formal announcement is pending, reports suggest that filming for Ramayan is scheduled to commence this year.
It’s rumored that Said Pallavi will play a leading role in the film. However, recent reports indicate a potential delay in the commencement of filming due to various internal issues that need resolution.
According to a source cited by Bollywood Hungama, the project is still in progress but won’t kick off this year due to unresolved internal matters. Among the reported issues is the perceived inadequacy of the costumes, described as not being lavish enough. Nitesh and Ranbir have yet to comment on these claims.
Last week, Siasat reported that producer Madhu Mantena has withdrawn from the project. Allegedly, the film was to be co-produced by Allu Aravind and Madhu Mantena, but Mantena has now stepped back for reasons yet undisclosed. It’s worth noting that the official confirmation of Mantena’s withdrawal is pending, as per News18.
In Nitesh Tiwari’s rendition of Ramayana, Ranbir Kapoor is slated to portray Lord Ram, while Sai Pallavi is cast as Sita. There are talks of KGF star Yash portraying Ravana and Sunny Deol being finalized for Hanuman’s role. Additionally, Bobby Deol and Vijay Sethupathi are reportedly in discussions for the roles of Kumbhakarna and Vibhashana, respectively. Recent reports also suggest Amitabh Bachchan’s potential casting as King Dashrath, although there’s no official confirmation yet.
