The Ambanis recently concluded their focus on Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding, and have now returned to their usual business pursuits.
Mukesh Ambani has resumed leadership of Reliance, while Nita Ambani has reaffirmed her role within the Olympic community.
Nita Ambani, known for her philanthropy and as the founder of Reliance Foundation, has been unanimously re-elected as a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) from India during the 142nd session in Paris.
Expressing gratitude for her re-election, Nita Ambani emphasized its significance for India’s global sporting influence, especially with the Paris Olympics opening this weekend, scheduled from July 26 to August 11.
Her association with the Olympics began in 2016 when she became the first Indian woman elected as an individual member of the IOC during the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games. Since then, she has actively contributed to advancing India’s sports ambitions and Olympic ideals.
Nita Ambani’s efforts have included pivotal roles, such as facilitating Mumbai’s first IOC session in over 40 years, underscoring India’s aspirations on the global stage. India also aims to bid for the 2036 Olympics.
Through Reliance Foundation, she continues to empower Indians through various initiatives in sports, education, health, art, and culture. The foundation impacts millions of children and youth across India.
In a notable partnership with the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), Reliance Foundation is set to launch India House at the Paris Olympics 2024. This initiative will serve as a supportive environment for athletes, symbolizing India’s Olympic journey and celebrating victories on the global platform.
“I am deeply honoured to be re-elected as a member of the International Olympic Committee. I would like to thank President Bach and all my colleagues in the IOC for their faith and trust in me,” said Ambani on her re-election ahead of the Paris Olympics 2024.
