Nayanthara has given audiences a glimpse into her personal and professional life through her documentary *Nayanthara – Beyond the Fairytale* on Netflix.
The documentary has generated considerable attention, especially after the unexpected clash between Nayanthara and Tamil actor Dhanush. Given the intense public exchanges and the candid nature of her documentary, it’s clear that her path to success has not been smooth or effortless. Her journey has been marked by many challenges and difficult moments.
In the documentary, Nayanthara opened up about her second relationship and the negative impact it had on her. Veteran actor Nagarjuna also shared how this relationship transformed her as a person.
Nayanthara revealed, “It was the man who told me to quit cinema. It wasn’t like I had an option. I was told to leave cinema, and I agreed.” While the names were not explicitly mentioned, she referred to her first relationship in the industry with actor-filmmaker Silambarasan TR. Despite not naming him, many revelations were made.
Actor Nagarjuna, who spoke about this period, said, “I think it was a turbulent time in her relationship. In fact, we would dread the moment her phone rang because it would turn her off immediately. She became a different person.”
Nayanthara’s relationship with choreographer Prabhu Deva also made headlines, especially when his wife threatened to protest unless he ended his relationship with the actress. The drama and controversy surrounding this phase eventually faded, but it was a tumultuous time.
The two eventually separated, and Nayanthara shared her thoughts on the breakup, saying, “Going through a breakup is one of the hardest times in anyone’s life. Leaving someone you love is truly painful. But how you cope with it matters. I won’t go into details about how I handled it, but I know I must move forward and embrace my life.”
She further explained, “That’s too personal to get into. A breakup is the most difficult phase in anyone’s life. When you have to part from someone you love, it really shatters your world. But how you deal with it is what matters. I can’t delve into how I dealt with it, but I had to move on and live my life.”
Nayanthara also addressed rumors about her appearance, saying, “Maybe that’s why a lot of people think I’ve done something to my face. But that’s not true. On record, it’s not true. It’s not that it’s wrong, but for me, it’s just been diet. There’s been a lot of weight fluctuation, and my cheeks go in and out.”
