Mukesh Ambani expressed his deep sorrow over Ratan Tata’s passing, describing it as a “very sad day for India and India Inc.” He emphasized that Tata’s death represents a national loss, impacting not just the Tata Group but every citizen of India.
Reflecting on their friendship, Ambani said, “The passing of Ratan Tata has filled me with immense grief as I lost a dear friend.” He recalled how every encounter with Tata inspired him and increased his admiration for Tata’s integrity and exceptional human qualities.
Ambani noted that each of their numerous meetings left him motivated and deepened his respect for Tata’s noble character and admirable values. He highlighted Tata as a visionary industrialist and philanthropist dedicated to the greater good of society.
In his statement, Ambani remarked that India has lost one of its most illustrious and compassionate figures with Tata’s passing. He acknowledged Tata’s role in elevating India’s presence globally, noting that he expanded the Tata Group more than 70 times since becoming Chairman in 1991.
On behalf of Reliance and the Ambani family, Mukesh Ambani extended heartfelt condolences to the grieving Tata family and the entire Tata Group. He concluded with a personal message, saying, “Ratan, you will always remain in my heart. Om Shanti.”
