Amazon Prime Video Drops Trailer for Karan Johar-Hosted Reality Thriller The Traitors
Amazon Prime Video has released the official trailer for its much-awaited reality show The Traitors, hosted by filmmaker and TV personality Karan Johar. Set in the stunning Suyagarh Palace in Rajasthan, the show features 20 celebrity contestants thrown into a gripping psychological game of trust and betrayal.
Some contestants are secretly designated as “traitors,” whose goal is to eliminate the loyal participants—known as the “faithful”—without being discovered. Meanwhile, the faithful must work together to unmask and banish the traitors before they’re all picked off. The nearly three-minute trailer offers glimpses of dramatic confrontations, shifting alliances, and shocking twists, all playing out under Karan Johar’s observant presence.
The eclectic lineup includes a mix of well-known faces such as Anshula Kapoor (sister of Arjun Kapoor), digital creator Apoorva Mukhija, seasoned actor Ashish Vidyarthi, TV stars Jannat Zubair, Jasmin Bhasin, and Karan Kundrra, as well as South Indian actress Lakshmi Manchu and Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives star Maheep Kapoor. Other contestants include casting director Mukesh Chhabra, YouTuber Purav Jha, rapper Raftaar, businessman Raj Kundra, Sahil Salathia, Nikita Luther, Janvi Gaur, Harsh Gujral, Elnaaz Norouzi, and Sudhanshu Pandey, among others—many of whom have previously made headlines for various controversies.
The trailer ends with a foreboding statement from Karan Johar: “Yaha trust is rare, but dhoka everywhere.”The series also marks Karan’s return to hosting duties after Bigg Boss OTT.
The Traitors will premiere on June 12, 2025, on Amazon Prime Video, with new episodes releasing every Thursday at 8 PM IST. The show is produced by BBC Studios India in partnership with All3Media International and is the Indian adaptation of the Dutch series De Verraders, which debuted in 2021 and has since been adapted in over 30 countries, including the UK, US, and Australia.
