“Kangana Ranaut Reveals She Turned Down Roles in Salman Khan’s Hits and Discusses Her Film *Emergency*”

Kangana Ranaut is actively promoting her forthcoming film *Emergency*. During the promotional campaign for the political drama, she revealed that she had turned down roles in Salman Khan’s films *Bajrangi Bhaijaan* (2015) and *Sultan* (2016).

Both films went on to become major hits at the box office.

In an interview with renowned YouTuber Siddharth Kannan, Kangana shared, “Salman offered me a role in *Bajrangi Bhaijaan*, but I thought the role was not substantial. He then approached me for *Sultan*, which I also declined. He asked me what else he could offer.” Ultimately, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Anushka Sharma were cast in the respective films directed by Kabir Khan and Ali Abbas Zafar.

Kangana noted that Salman has been very gracious despite her rejecting his offers. She remarked, “Salman is very kind. He keeps in touch and is even looking forward to *Emergency*. Through a mutual friend, he sent his regards and said, ‘You should see what film she has made.’ He called me to say, ‘It’s a nice film,’ which shows the camaraderie we have.”

Kangana also recently explained her reasons for avoiding work with the Khans—Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan. On Raj Shamani’s podcast, she stated, “I declined their film offers because their movies often feature heroines with minimal roles and one song. I wanted to set an example as a leading actress who hasn’t worked with the Khans.”

In *Emergency*, Kangana portrays former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film, set to release on September 6, represents Kangana’s solo directorial debut. She had previously co-directed the 2019 film *Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi* with Krish Jagarlamudi.
