South Korean actor Jung Woo Sung has confirmed that he is the father of South Korean model Moon Gabi’s child. His confirmation follows an announcement by the South Korean entertainment portal Dispatch Korea, which revealed that Moon Gabi had given birth to a baby earlier this year with an unnamed father.
Both Jung Woo Sung and Moon Gabi publicly confirmed the news shortly after the report surfaced.
According to the report, Jung Woo Sung and Moon Gabi met in 2022 and developed a close relationship over time. Although there has been no official confirmation of them being in a romantic relationship, it was reported that Moon Gabi discovered she was pregnant in June 2023. She reportedly shared the news with Jung Woo Sung, who was overjoyed. The 51-year-old actor also vowed to take responsibility for parenting duties.
Jung Woo Sung’s agency, Artist Company, issued an official statement confirming the news. “It is true that actor Jung Woo Sung is the biological father of the child that Moon Gabi revealed on social media. He is currently discussing the best options for childcare and, as a father, he will take full responsibility for the child moving forward,” the statement said, as quoted by Soompi.
In the wake of the announcement, Moon Gabi’s post about the arrival of her baby went viral. Over the weekend, she shared a picture with her newborn and opened up about her experience. “I was not prepared at all for this sudden news, so rather than fully embracing the joy of pregnancy and the congratulations from others, I spent most of my pregnancy quietly, surrounded by the blessings of my family,” she confessed.
“I made the decision to keep it private for the sake of my baby,” she added. “I believed that to protect something precious inside my heart, I needed to carefully hide my pregnancy.”
