Internet Users Respond to Amelia Gray Hamlin Wearing Similar Outfit to Uorfi Javed’s Solar System Dress.

Social media is abuzz with updates about the recently concluded Met Gala 2024, the biggest festival of fashion held at New York‘s Metropolitan Museum of Art.

This year’s event, attended by celebrities from Alia Bhatt to Doja Cat, was as star-studded as ever, showcasing theme-based outfits. Among them, model Amelia Gray Hamlin’s attire for the fashion event drew comparisons with social media sensation Uorfi Javed.

Amelia Gray Hamlin made her Met Gala debut in a light-up terrarium dress from Jun Takahashi’s spring 2024 show, featuring sheer fabric revealing bundles of roses and delicate butterflies within its structure.

Internet users quickly noticed similarities between Amelia’s dress and Uorfi Javed’s solar-system outfit, worn at a previous event. Uorfi gained attention for her unconventional terrarium-inspired dress, glowing in the dark with planets.

One social media user noted, “Hey hey #UorfiJaved donned this look before it was a thing, some credits perhaps #MetGala2024 #MetGala,” while another commented, “queen uorfi did it before.” A third user pointed out, “She copied the dress style idea of our urfi Javed #MetGala2024 | Met Gala 2024.”

This year’s Met Gala dress code, The Garden of Time, draws inspiration from JG Ballard’s 1962 short story of the same name, aligning with the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute’s exhibition, Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.

Alia Bhatt, making her second Met Gala appearance, shared photos on her Instagram account flaunting a mint green saree on the red carpet, with dewy makeup and hair styled in a bun adorned with a matha patti. She explained how her outfit aimed for an Indian interpretation of the Met Gala dress code, symbolizing timelessness and acknowledging the enduring value of carefully crafted items. Designed by Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Alia’s saree epitomized tradition and innovation, as she expressed in her caption, “Nothing embodies tradition and innovation like the saree; in the skilled hands of @sabyasachiofficial, this vision found its fullest expression.”
