Dubai’s international tourist arrivals surged to 1.77 million in January 2024, marking a 21% rise from the previous year’s 1.47 million visitors.

In January 2024, Dubai witnessed a surge in international tourism, with 1.77 million visitors, marking a notable increase of 21% from the 1.47 million tourists recorded during the same period in 2023. According to the Dubai Tourism Performance Report for January, issued by the Department of Economy and Tourism, Western Europe emerged as the leading source market for international tourists, contributing over 18% of the total influx with 327,000 visitors.

Following closely behind, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries accounted for nearly 18% of visitors, totaling 311,000, while South Asia secured the third position with 294,000 visitors, constituting approximately 17% of the total.

Russia, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and Eastern Europe collectively contributed 15% to the total number of international visitors, reaching 262,000. Meanwhile, visitors from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region accounted for 12% of the total, with 211,000 arrivals, placing them fifth on the list.

North and Southeast Asia occupied the sixth spot, welcoming 149,000 visitors, comprising 8% of the total. The Americas followed in seventh place, with 115,000 visitors representing approximately 6% of the total arrivals. Africa trailed in eighth place with 71,000 visitors, constituting 4% of the total, while Australia ranked last, contributing 33,000 visitors, accounting for 2% of the overall international tourist arrivals.
