A new biographical film will detail the remarkable story of former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, as announced by the creators on Tuesday.
The film, which has not yet been named, will be produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and co-produced by Ravi Bhagchandka, known for “Sachin: A Billion Dreams” and the upcoming Aamir Khan film “Sitaare Zameen Par.”
Described as a “grand celebration” of Singh’s cricket career, the movie will highlight his iconic six sixes in the 2007 T20 World Cup, his brave battles off the field, and his comeback to cricket in 2012, according to a press release.
Singh, who started his cricketing journey at age 13, expressed hope that his story will motivate others to overcome their own obstacles.
He shared, “I am truly honored that my story will be shared with my fans worldwide by Bhushan and Ravi. Cricket has been my greatest passion and source of strength through all its ups and downs. I hope this film encourages others to tackle their challenges and chase their dreams with dedication.”
Kumar, who has supported major hits like “Drishyam 2,” “Animal,” “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2,” “Kabir Singh,” and “Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior,” expressed enthusiasm about showcasing Singh’s inspiring journey.
He remarked, “Yuvraj Singh’s life is a powerful story of resilience, achievement, and passion. His transition from a promising cricketer to a cricketing legend, and then to a real-life hero, is truly motivating. I am excited to tell this story on the big screen and celebrate his remarkable accomplishments.”
Details about the film’s director and cast are still to be revealed.
