As India marks its 78th Independence Day, actor Ayushmann Khurrana shared a touching post reflecting on his childhood experiences.
On Instagram, Ayushmann posted a nostalgic photo from his time in Delhi, featuring him in a white fusion outfit standing in front of the iconic India Gate.
In his post, he wrote, “Celebrating our 78 years! We still have a lot of work ahead. We’ve come a long way, but there’s more to achieve. Let’s continue to build a stronger, brighter nation together.”
On this important day, Ayushmann reminisced about celebrating India’s independence with family and friends, expressing his deep sense of patriotism.
He shared, “I am deeply patriotic. My upbringing involved learning about the pride of being Indian, as there is no other country like ours. As a child, I was educated about our nation’s rich history, struggles, and successes. The stories of our national heroes who fought for our freedom profoundly moved me.”
He continued, “I admired their resilience and unconditional love for our country. During Independence Day at school, we honored these heroes and were reminded that our freedom was achieved through significant sacrifice. We were taught that maintaining this freedom requires active contribution from everyone.”
Ayushmann also fondly recalled his excitement for Independence Day celebrations at school, particularly the flag-hoisting ceremonies and singing the national anthem. He mentioned, “As a student, I remember the pride and excitement of these ceremonies, and I still sing the anthem with enthusiasm. Many people share this sentiment, and our collective love for the country has shaped India into what it is today.”
Reflecting on the theme of this year’s Independence Day, “Viksit Bharat,” Ayushmann expressed his belief in India’s growing global prominence. “This theme resonates with me as I have witnessed India’s rise on the global stage. Our country’s image has strengthened each year, and India is now a focal point of global attention.”
He called for a collective effort to strengthen the nation, stating, “Our economy, culture, and heritage are being recognized worldwide as examples of unity and diversity. On this Independence Day, let’s commit to making our country stronger and contributing positively to society through our actions.”
Ayushmann revealed his commitment to impactful storytelling through cinema and his role as UNICEF India’s National Ambassador. He stated, “I aim to excel in storytelling by highlighting extraordinary stories of India and its resilient citizens. Through my work with UNICEF, I support countless children and advocate for creating an environment where they can thrive. We must protect the next generation and build an inclusive, welcoming nation. We have the power to make India shine brighter through our actions.”
India is celebrating 77 years of independence this year. Prime Minister Modi is addressing the nation from the Red Fort for the 11th time on Independence Day, a milestone achieved by only two previous Prime Ministers. The theme “Viksit Bharat @ 2047” reflects the government’s goal of transforming India into a developed nation by 2047.
