Kokilaben Ambani, the widow of Reliance Industries founder Dhirubhai Ambani and the mother of Mukesh and Anil Ambani, made a visit to Chorwad with her grandson Anant Ambani and his soon-to-be wife Radhika Merchant on March 12. In celebration of her recent 90th birthday, Kokilaben sought divine blessings for the couple at the Somnath temple in Prabhas Patan, located about 40 km from Chorwad, the same place where she and Dhirubhai Ambani were wed.
Dhirubhai Ambani spent his formative years in Chorwad, with his ancestral village Kukkaswada situated close by.
Kokilaben Ambani reminisced about her late husband during her visit to Chorwad, discussing his patriotic fervor, his decision to reject Aden citizenship, and the inception and public offering of Reliance. She highlighted the company’s expansion under Mukesh Ambani’s guidance and Anant Ambani’s involvement in the refinery sector, emphasizing his special bond with Jamnagar.
In addition to participating in temple rituals with Kokilaben, Anant and Radhika also received good wishes from Chorwad’s residents. It was reported that the Ambani family hosted a dinner in the region, which is part of the Junagadh district.
The extensive pre-wedding festivities for Anant and Radhika, held from March 1 to March 3, became a major subject of interest, attracting national and international stars.
