Somy Ali, former girlfriend of Salman Khan, has made new claims about the actor amidst the death threats he is currently facing from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
In a recent interview with a news channel, Somy revealed that she had discussed the blackbuck killing case with Salman when it occurred.
Speaking with India Today, Somy stated that Salman was unaware of the blackbuck’s significance to the Bishnoi community. She argued, “Why should he apologize for something he didn’t know? It’s unreasonable to force someone to apologize for an unintentional act. It’s not about pride; I just don’t want anyone to be murdered in Bollywood or Hollywood. Violence is never the solution.”
Reflecting on the 1998 incident, Somy mentioned that the Bishnoi community should realize that Salman genuinely didn’t know the implications. She assured that he was unaware that blackbucks are worshipped by the community. She recounted her experiences hunting with Salman during outdoor shoots, noting that he had refrained from taking her on one occasion because she scared the animals away.
Currently residing outside India, Somy challenged Lawrence Bishnoi to a Zoom conversation in a recent social media post. In the interview, she expressed a desire to understand his mindset.
Somy clarified her stance, saying, “I am against the death penalty and murder. I care about Salman’s safety as much as I do for anyone else in my community. I have no personal feelings for Salman, and I don’t seek publicity or financial support from him. The last time we spoke was in 2012, and I just want to ensure that no one is harmed.”
Her remarks come as Salman Khan has received renewed death threats. The Mumbai traffic police received a message demanding ₹5 crore from him, prompting the Crime Branch to launch an investigation.
A case has been filed at the Worli police station under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for threats and extortion, following the WhatsApp message received by the city’s traffic control room.
Previously, Salman Khan had also received death threats from the Bishnoi gang, which had even fired shots outside his Bandra residence in April.
